Romances, Weddings and Births
We would like to extend our congratulations to Jody Williston on his first wedding anniversary to Kozue Uchiyama. They were married a year ago on May 18, 2002. Since then they have welcomed a beautiful baby boy into the world by the name of Ryu Williston. He will be a year old on September 15. Attached at the end of the text are come pictures of the Williston Family. Congratulations Jody!!
Well it finally happened; Shannon and Ben finally got married last October at the Mount Allison Chapel. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Black.
Haley also got married and will now be known as Mrs. Green. She now resides with her husband in Montreal, PQ.
Kelly Decourcey married Mark Hatfield (commerce class of '01) nearly a year ago on July 6th, 2002 at a lake side ceremony at Adairs Wilderness Lodge in New Brunswick, near Sussex/Poley Mountain. It was a weekend event that was absolutely fabulous with activities including hiking/canoeing/fishing/golf and fireworks. Fellow MTA alumni that could make it were bridesmaids Nancy Corcoran (commerce '00), Jillian Bostick, Carla Goodyear ('00) and Dustin McCarthy ('00). After a wonderful honeymoon in Cuba, they returned back to their home in Rothesay, NB. Best wishes to you both!
Joe Avery and Jamie Dignard are settled together in Lower Sackville, NS.
Work and Life
Besides keeping busy with his new wife and baby, Jody is working for Theriault & Hachey Peat Moss as the marketing manager. He has developed some new customers in Puerto Rico, Florida and Pennsylvania. In addition to this job, he has also started a trading company with his father holding the vice-president position of Kuma Trading, which primarily exports agricultural products to Japan. On the importing side, he's thinking of importing toilet seats that double as bidets. You know, to sprinkle luke warm water on your privates. He welcomes any thoughts or comments about this new venture!
Sarah Nicholson moved form Halifax, NS to Shilo, Manitoba (where you ask??). She followed her heart and moved out here for a guy and is now living on a military base. Who would of thought!! Sarah is working in the neighboring city in Brandon, MB as a Marketing Assistant at the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba.
Kevin Lo has just quit a bank job and now is looking for another. It is a nice break for him because working hours are long in Hong Kong. He has now returned to Hong Kong for about one year and a half. He's glad that he came back to Hong Kong, where he grew up, to work because there are more opportunities there. For instance, he once got three interviews in one single day, or three split between two days. The only thing bad is that Hong Kong is still mired in a recession. Good luck with the job search Kevin!
Renee Durepos purchased a townhouse in April, 2002. She has moved from her last position within my Managment Trainee program - this one is in Operations as a Production Supervisor at Olivieri Foods (the pasta and sauce company). They are also owned by Maple Leaf Foods. Her job consists of supervising the 'Sauce' Line and she has about 15 hourly wage people to supervise on a daily basis. Much different than the Head Office life, but it is a very good experience.
Still in Boston, Shelley Stiles is working with an investment firm, State Street Associates as a Research Analyst. She just recently moved to a larger place with her boyfriend Neil and welcomes any visitors.
Ted Rutland is working on a farm in the south of Spain right now and plans to be doing this at least until the fall. He is seriously thinking about being a farmer for life - a far cry from accounting class and consulting maybe, but he feels all the shit he shoveled in Roger's class has prepared him well for taking care of horses.
Watch the roads in British Columbia because you may see Ian McLellan patrolling them. Ian recently graduated from the RCMP training academy in February and was posted in Trail, BC, a city of about 10 000 people on the Washington state border in the Kootenays (mountains). He moved to BC with his girlfriend, Kristen Smith and loves the job and the BC weather is great. They are offering their spare bedroom if anyone ever makes it out their way - halfway between Calgary and Vancouver.
Joe Avery is working at a new position with ML Edwards in Bedford, NS
Oh, that dreaded UFE. Congratulations to Shannon Black, Nikki Hilton, Kelly Frizzell, Greg MacDonald, Angie Pettretta, and Ryan Michalski. All who will soon have their CA designation.
Besides passing the UFE, Kelly Frizzell bought her first house in a town the size of Sackville! Fergus, Ontario. With her job she is traveling lots to the US. She's been to Philadelphia, North Carolina and New York.
Kim Stephens has been busy travelling for work too, to places including, Toronto, Rhode Island, St. Louis and Winnipeg.
Nicole Coulter has changed career paths multiple times lately. In December, she went from finance to purchasing when she accepted a new position with Irving Oil as a Junior Buyer, in Saint John, NB. That only lasted a couple months though before she decided that Aliant was offering her a better position as an Administrative Assistant for the Executive Office.
Andrea Redden has been busy working on a major project for Accenture that was implemented this spring. Her role and responsibilities on the project havent been alleviated due to the implementation but rather heightened and intensified.
School and Extra Curricular Activities
Congratulations to Brad Ross graduated from law school at Western this past May. Brad will complete his Bar Admissions Course this summer and starting in September he will be articling at a large corporate law firm in Toronto. Brad has dreams of returning to the East Coast eventually but first student loans have to be paid off don't we know about that! Other than that, with the help of Jill Sadler, Brad has been pursuing a very lucrative foot modeling career and business is booming.
Besides working full time, Shelley Stiles has been pursuing her Master's of Science in Finance at Northeastern University in Boston. She hopes to graduate next May and has optimism of continuing her education with a CFA designation or an MBA. But right now, she looks forward to being 'bored' for a while.
Anyone for a fling? Shelley also runs her own dance school in Boston and welcomes anyone who wishes to learn Highland Dancing!
